Founded in 1988, The Foundation Academy is a private school in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, whose mission is to educate children in a family-like environment, helping each student become a critical thinker and a lifelong learner. The first year, we started with only a few students and doubled by the end of that year.

Today, almost at our capacity of 260 students, we continue to build on the foundation of family and acceptance, educating students to their potential and building success from kindergarten through high school.

We understand the reality of differences in styles of learning. We also understand that this world is an integrated environment that overlaps the academic, artistic, emotional, physical and spiritual components of life. We mirror this integration in our curriculum to prepare students to succeed in today’s world.

The Foundation Academy staff engages in weekly development sessions, where we discuss and plan ways to reach high expectations for each individual learner. We adapt our curriculum to meet student needs, and include world events and issues as they arise. We integrate arts and sciences and connect these to the real world around us.

For 20 years, The Foundation Academy has developed great thinkers and leaders in an atmosphere of warmth and mutual respect. These strong-willed individuals learn to collaborate with others to accomplish their goals. They grow to respect differences and appreciate their unique personal contributions. They go on to college and the workforce, with the resiliency built from this enlightened school environment. All TFA students learn they have unique skills and talents, much needed in today’s world. Perseverance, support, and individual tutoring enable them to meet their goals.
