Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) are a critical component of The Foundation Academy curriculum and each of these disciplines play a key role in the execution of project inquiry based learning.
TFA students take on responsibility for learning through teacher facilitated, student driven S.T.E.A.M. based projects which launch from experiencing relevant content of the curriculum but expand into innovative ideas and interactions between students. This process leads into meaningful opportunities for students to become the teachers, a sign that true learning has occurred.
This Project Inquiry Based Learning leads to our student-as-teacher exhibitions developed for the Jacksonville Science Festival which is an annual city-wide event sponsored by the Foundation Academy, driven by TFA students, and includes participation of K-12 students from various schools and learning environments throughout Jacksonville.
The Foundation Academy admits any student regardless of sex, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, or national and ethnic origin.
