Portfolios at a
glance

Portfolios are the main form used to evaluate the mastery of
understanding and application of curriculum at TFA. A
rubric
is used for calculating a grade of mastery.
- Student
work is reflected on and then re-done, showing their progress
toward understanding what they have learned.

Portfolios are open ended, with accumulated student work from
the start of the school year(s).

Portfolios are presented before an evaluation team comprised of
teachers, students, parents, the
principal and community members.

Portfolio work is used to demonstrate the level of understanding
and application of the 15 Essential
Skills.

Portfolios reinforce the importance of clear communication.
