-I am a veteran art teacher, with over 33 years of experience, newly retired from Duval County School System. I am excitedly “REFIRING” rather than retiring. I am joining the TFA staff this year as one of their art teachers K-12. My passion is to empower students to become confident problem solvers. I hope to help them realize that mistakes are a part of learning. Determination and perseverance are qualities that overcome all obstacles. I tell my students that they can turn mistakes into successes.
I was born and raised in Rochester, N.Y. I got my BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. I also have a masters in administration/supervision from UNF. One of my passions is prison ministry. I am the founder and leader of a women’s prison ministry (for the past 15 years) called Rejoice Transforming Ministries. We have a team that goes once a month to 4 women’s prisons near Ocala, Florida to share the hope we have in Jesus Christ and God’s promises from the Bible. It is a privilege to see hardened hearts healed and transformed.
